Prince William Honors 7/7 Victims at Solemn Memorial Service

Twenty years ago, my life—and the lives of so many others—changed in ways we could never have imagined. That morning, July 7th, 2005, we all left our homes with ordinary hopes, simple plans, and the quiet expectation of another peaceful day.

But in a single, shattering moment, everything was different.

Fifty-two innocent lives were cut short by a senseless act of terror. Many more, myself included, were left with injuries that would alter the course of our lives forever—wounds that run deeper than the body, scars that time cannot erase.

What began as a happy, perfect morning quickly turned into the darkest of days, and the nights that followed were filled with uncertainty and pain. Our lives, and the world we knew, were changed forever.

Yet out of that darkness, we found each other. Survivors, families, friends—we became a community bound not just by tragedy, but by resilience, compassion, and the determination to remember those we lost.

Prince William’s presence here today is not only a tribute to the pain we endured, but also a testament to the strength and unity that has carried us through. Together, we honor the memory of those who are gone, and we remind the world that even in our bleakest moments, hope and love endure.
